Membership

Membership of BACSA is open to everyone interested in our activities.   Twice a year in spring and autumn members receive mailings that include our journal Chowkidar - a lively blend of news, queries about ancestors, off-beat topics, illustrations and book reviews - and our popular second-hand book list.  We organise two meetings a year in London that include reports on BACSA projects, usually a guest speaker, and a convivial curry lunch. Once or twice a year we organise visits to places in Britain with South Asian connections.

Corporate membership

This is available to societies, clubs, libraries, companies, etc.    The annual subscription is £10 (£20 outside the UK) for full membership;  or an annual subscription of £5 (£10 outside the UK) for two issues of “Chowkidar” only.

Payment

Annual subscriptions, due on 1st  January each year,  must be paid by Standing Order -  ensuring prompt payment and reducing administration for our volunteers.   If you join as an Annual member after 31st August your subscription will run until the end of the following year, so please complete your Standing Order accordingly.

We regret that we cannot accept payment in other currencies.

Members who pay UK income tax and/or capital gains tax can help us – without cost to themselves – to  reclaim the tax on their subscription by completing and signing a Gift Aid form.  The form remains in force for any further subscriptions or donations until cancelled by the member.

Please send the application form, and Standing Order and Gift Aid forms (if applicable), together with your payment of £100 or £22.50 (or £7.50 for students), to the Honorary Membership Secretary:

Christopher Carnaghan, 42 Rectory Lane, King's Langley WD4 8EY, U.K.
